Maria del Carmen Blyth

Maria del Carmen Blyth was born on December 25 1941 in San Antonio, Texas and she passed away peacefully here on February 9, 2024 after a full virtuous life.  

Our mother had six children and we are honoring her with this living, growing tree in the soil of her hometown at the site of The World’s Fair in 1968.  When we were small children and the Hemisfair grounds were being built, our father drove us by the construction site several times under my mother’s insistence because her children were fascinated by the tower going up day by day and the Hilton being stacked room by room.  Her life was full of countless moments like this of selfless consideration for others. 

We are honoring Carmen with this Monterrey Oak in remembrance of her time at the peak of her career when she lived high on a mountain in a mansion overlooking Monterrey, Mexico.overlooking Monterrey, Mexico.
