Shannon Perry

This tree honors Shannon Perry and her nine years of dedicated service to the Hemisfair Conservancy. She was the Conservancy's second employee and worked as the Development & Communications Manager from 2014-2023. Shannon began working at Hemisfair before Yanaguana Garden opened to the public and was present for the unveiling of the first phase of Civic Park. She single-handedly developed and administered the Conservancy's donor database, which helped the team maintain and steward relationships with individuals, businesses, and foundations. Shannon, a beloved teammate, has much to be proud of, but her crowning achievement was helping create Hemisfair's unique augmented reality tree donor recognition program. By the day of her departure, the program had inspired the sponsorship of 125 mature trees which add beauty and shade to the park, offset the urban heat island effect, and showcase meaningful donor tributes for generations to come.
