CPS Energy is happy to be part of improving our city’s tree canopy, donating trees, and educating the community about their care since 2001. Trees offer shade, lower temperatures, and save energy for businesses, homes, and the community. Strategic tree placement can reduce a household's energy use by up to 25%, boost property value, and improve the environment. Urban trees can decrease peak summer temperatures by 2–9°F through shading and moisture retention. By sponsoring six trees, CPS Energy helps remove about 18 tons of CO2, prevent 264 lbs. of pollutants like NOx, and cut stormwater runoff by 63,017 gallons.
