Hatcher/de la Garza Family
This magnificent Mexican Sycamore tree celebrates the unique American family of Sherry Hatcher and Luis de la Garza. With blended ethnicities of her English-European and his Mexican American heritages, they created a Texas family with deep roots, beginning with the early colonization of South Texas by Spanish conquistador Blas Maria de la Garza Falcon, and followed by generations of Tejanos. Sherry and Luis raised three sons with strong family values characterized by faith, compassion, and service for others, along with hard work and education. Sons Miguel Adan, Gabriel Omar, and Lucas Xavier de la Garza, and their families, are blessed with bright futures as proud descendants of this culturally blended South Texas American family. May this Mexican Sycamore tree stand as a tribute to the many blended heritages of today’s Texans.
