Trees are often portrayed as lasting creatures, steadfast and strong. They outlive our human life spans, continuing on into relative perpetuity. And so it is with our families, as we, should we choose to, pass "ourselves" on through our children and grandchildren and on through the ages, much as trees do. It is now thought that trees are able to communicate to other trees through their root systems. They form families and relationships. And so, it is appropriate and fitting that we honor our 2 precious granddaughters as they carry us with them long past our physical presence on this earth. May they contribute to their world as this tree does, bringing "oxygen" to this world through their life efforts as they grow and mature, much as this tree will. That is our steadfast hope and expectation for them.
